It's My Birthday!

Woo!

Wrong Neighborhood

Health class. We're doing community service presentations. I drew the top doodle first, because this class is stupid. Very stupid.

Then I drew the dude with the afro. Sadly, I have not watched Pulp Fiction.

Someone else at my table drew the mustachio'd candy corn dude. Pretty cool, no?

Did you ask for a princess?

ELA. A classmate said she's sick of me drawing cops and robbers and so on instead of princesses. So I made a princess.

Album Coverz

Math class. I have a few music releases coming up, so I started working on album art concepts.
First, I tried a font for the "cover" of a single I'm releasing soon, called "Starstorm". I think I got down the basic idea here. Next, I plan to get it onto  clean paper and clean up the look.

The next doodle is an idea for my second installment of my iPod music compilation series, "in lieu of effort", which is also coming soon. The first set used a lined-paper doodle format, and I wanted to continue that aesthetic. Note the creepy 80's dude.

Snow, Skate, Donuts?

English class yesterday, discussing Tale of Two Cities. Translation: teacher lectures us and asks questions of which I answer a good majority.
So, I drew a few boarders. It's been a while since I did a motion shot. Preliminary penciling really helped.
"That was a gnarly pebble he hit there."

Then today, again in English class, I got a half-sheet for a warm up. So I made a cop.
For once, I did some work on the background, with some sidewalks, shadows, a warehouse, and a storefront.
"All right. So you either get me your license and registration, or buy me a coffee."

MC Killa Stache

AP Bio Class at MIT. Finished a practice test early, so I figured I'd do a doodle.
It started as a cop, but I screwed up the hair. So he became a rapper.

My Weekend So Far

So yesterday (Friday), I participated in a MICCA festival with a small orchestra in my town - we got GOLD! and will perform again next week at either Mechanic's Hall or Symphony Hall next week.

Then I did it again with my high school's orchestra today. We got silver, but it was pretty awesome. Then I went back home, finally got a new strap for my violin (I had broken my last one a few weeks back), had ice cream (may the lords of gluttony smile down upon Dad), then took a walk where I ended up pondering a replacement for the United States Constitution. Now, I'm blogging and doing some final work on a new EP for [insert meme], which should come out quite soon.

Yup. Life is pretty epic right now.

Sleepless

I started this drum and bass track a week ago, and finished it over the weekend. Enjoy!

My music: brain burn

I made this in math class last Friday. I was supposed to be reviewing for a quiz while the teacher was out.

Pi Day!

Bio. Drew the girl first, then realized it was Pi Day today!

I Am That Guy

I've never actually done that. But it sounds funny.

Edit: What it says:
I finished that month-long project last week. I am that guy.

My Music: bloody ears-2

I made dubstep. Because, you know, it solves everything.
Made with Pixitracker 1-bit.
EDIT: reuploaded with a fixed ending

"The Black Box" by Aivi and Surasshu

I found this gem on Reddit yesterday, and it's simply epic. This duo basically makes chiptune/piano fusion music, based around a comic-style story starring an archaeologist and a robot. I personally love "Here's How!" which goes for a jazzy feel, which I'm just a sucker for.
This album's free, too.
I repeat.
GET THIS. NOW.

Fish Curry

I made fish curry today, and Mom only helped me a little bit! WIN!

#YOLO

Math class.

Learning How to Make Dal

Mom is teaching me how to make dal - lentil soup.
Pic 1: the seasoning: tomatoes, garlic, ginger, and several other spices and stuff.
Pic 2: added lentils. This here will blow the doors off any douchebag's protein shake, while tasting far better.
Who needs Instagram when you have a blog no one reads?

HOLY SNOWDRIFTS!

We got some guys to plow our super-long driveway just now. I just realized how much snow we got. And not lame powder snow. This is all legit snowball/man/fort- quality!
Tomorrow will be epic.

My Music: dorkenstein

I made a song today!
Well, actually I started it yesterday. These days, I go my violin lessons 20-30 minutes early (scheduling conflicts). This time I brought my iPod, and, using PixiTracker, I made a drum and bass song which I called "dorkenstein," for some reason.
I finished it today, because I can't stop! stop stop stop stop
But when I uploaded it, SoundCloud mistook it for a copy of some lame rap song. Weird.
But here it is!

Mmmm...Meatballs

I helped make them as we remain buried in yet another snowstorm. (SNO! STAHP!) As in, stood around and pressed the "on" button on a grinder.
Yum. You jealous.

My Music: Pixitracker Stuff

Pixitracker is a music software I got a while ago. Basically, it's this little iOS/Android app that makes retro-style music. I got the 1-bit version, which is something like a dollar $2, and makes really crappy-sounding, unmasterable "music" with simple samples.
And it is amazing. I got back into using it this week, and I've been plugging away during school. It's one of the best ways to burn time, and unlike Reddit, it makes you more energized, not less.
On to the music:
I made this a long time ago, but finally exported it this week.

I made this two days ago, and exported it today.

And last but not least, one I finished just today.
Enjoy!

Music I Wrote: "Made of Win"

Some music I made today - a kind of hip-hop/skweee thing. You like it?

And a crappy DnB-i-fied remix of the above song - because I can. All I did was tweak the tempo.
Enjoy!

EDIT: I just realized that this is my 100th post. WIN!!! Indeed, I am *cue sunglasses* made of win.

The Immune System

I take a bio class on weekends. I didn't feel like taking notes anymore.

Music: heRobust - Cosmos Def

A friend of mine showed me this. It's a trap song by Hayden Kramer, better known as heRobust. The song uses sounds you would frequently hear in modern dubstep, but in a unique style. Which is awesome.

A Remix I Made

I made a remix of a song by this guy, who was kind enough to let me trash his music.
The original, a chill, FM-synth-based piece not out of place in some Wii feature.

And my remix, where I went all 80's dance.

Enjoy!

Music: protman

This dude's epic. He makes minimalist, glitchy, sample-based music that sounds like an army of 80's robots trying to take over the world.

Or something. I don't know. It's just awesome.

Snow, Snow Everywhere

It's snowing like crazy here in New England...again. I think the blizzard was a week ago, and we have yet another snowstorm now. Granted, it's not that big, but I had to cancel my plans for today because of it.

Yes, there used to be a walkway there.

SNOW! WAT R U DOING? STAHP!

Sugar - A remix a made a while back.

Yes, I make music.
This is a remix of Stanley Turrentine's "Sugar" that I made a week back. I played the song last year in my school's jazz band, and just loved the complex melody and chords and so on. So I stole it (kind of).
Enjoy!

Music: Chromatic Dream and Running in the Fog - "Tethered To The Sun"

I just found this yesterday, and I can't stop listening to this.

"Tethered to the Sun" is a three-track EP made by Chromatic Dream and Running in the Fog, which is a duo involving a London producer in China, a singer in California, and a crap-ton of email. More info here.

The tunes are awesome. It reminds me of Crystal Castles a bit, with a chill atmosphere, echo-y vocals, and a bass sound that I am so jealous of.

And it's free. Seriously. Go get it.

Squares

More Macbeth. This time I drew squares and stuff.

Macbeth

A reading guide on Macbeth. I was watching a movie adaptation of the play, and I drew this.

Flies with Chainsaws.

The first one I found yesterday, buried in my (wait for it...) math folder.

The second one I actually drew in math class yesterday. It's based on an old doodle, and has a funny backstory.

Last year, I was taking Honors Biology with possibly one of the most awesome teachers ever. Seriously. Sadly, he retired, but he goes down as one of my favorite teachers of all time. So he was teaching us about Thomas Hunt Morgan, who discovered sex chromosomes in flies. Now, my teacher used some creative liberty, and turned his story into a dark tale of a deranged, depressed quasi-sociopath on the edge of suicide.

Later in that class, I think someone mentioned chainsaws, and, connected it to Morgan in a twisted way, said something about flies with chainsaws.
And thus the drawing was born. I still have the original in a drawer. If I ever start another band, I want to call it "Flies with Chainsaws." Because flies with chainsaws.

Ah, 9th grade...back when school was actually kinda cool.

It's Wrong Because...

Once, some months back in math, I got a 3/18 on a problem set, despite getting all the answers right.

Apparently I didn't show enough work. Because I knew the material too well.

That came back to me just now, so I doodled it.

After a Latin Test

Some lame philosophy-ish stuff.

And a tree.

I Can Haz Cooking Skillz

I wrote this a week back, but it didn't post then. So here it is...kinda late.

So we had some leftover uncooked paneer (Indian equivalent of cottage cheese) in the fridge. I figured that it got to go, so I cooked it up myself! I put in some paneer masala that was floating around and some fish curry that Mom was cooking at the time.

It tasted like victory.

Today I went to a huge Sweet Sixteen birthday party

And I kinda have mixed feelings about it. At some points it rocked. I had some great conversations, and just had fun.

At other times, I felt forever alone. I just walked in circles a lot, rendered more or less deaf by the pop music blasted by the DJ. The birthday girl, jesting of course, said something about her being the only person who can stand me. She wasn't trying to be mean, but it raised a good point: I am probably too "weird" for many people to stand for a long time.

I could list all my quirks, but I'll spare you the rant.

I'm probably taking that joke too seriously. I'm probably taking life too seriously now.

Yeah, sleepiness is degenerating my brain to the point of unfiltered teenage angst being embarrassingly fire-hosed online. I'll stop.

Bio Class

I saw stuff in a microscope in Bio today. I saw parameciums, euglenas (algae, in the pic), and A LIVE AMOEBA!!!!! Sadly I couldn't nab a pic of that.
School has its moments.

Math Class Sucks

My math class is stupid. I'm the only one that understands this stuff. Pre-calc is not hard for me, but it's seemingly impossible for everyone else. And that infuriates me. So I doodle. It's better than nothing.

Nothing is Uglier...

...than a bald man with hair.
Or so the Latin phrase goes. I had to draw that in a quiz. Much obliged.

I iz Eevil

I drew this a few days back. I felt evil.

Moar ELA doodlez

I'm back, and still bored, and still doodling.

First one: I was inspired by an old doodle of a dude in argyle. Reading it's a classic preppy trait, I drew a preppy.

Second one. In a passage of Beowulf, I saw the words, "Mortal Combat." Cue doodle.
